## The space

Our Grand 2-Bedroom apartment, located in the iconic and exclusive Bliss House, has soaring ceilings up to 15ft in the living area and primary bedroom, grand windows with Juliet balconies casting golden light and pale sand linen drapes, giving sun-kissed vibes.

Enter through a formal foyer appointed with a handmade custom Australian travertine console table, mid-century rush stools, a pair of geometric plaster mirrors by Rachel Donath, and dramatic vintage murano glass petal sconces flanking the entryway to the kitchen. Additionally, there is a spacious coat closet.

The living room has a dramatic seating area with a mix of vintage and contemporary decor from Denmark, and a curated collection of vintage sculptures, artwork, and objects. Also, there is a desk area with a 75” Frame TV, flanked by a prewar stone fireplace and magnificent gilt mirror. The space is illuminated by a rare and dramatically oversized Noguchi rice paper lantern which gives the space an organic touch and a serene atmosphere.

The dinning area features a grand oak dinning table designed by Danielle Siggerud, vintage Daumiller chairs from the 1970s, a custom upholstered Danish dinning sofa. Accenting the table is a rare Murano glass spikey vase and a pair of handmade candlesticks. Above the dinning sofa is another gilt mirror, creating an infinity perspective and a pair of handmade glass sconces by our friend Peter Staples.

The primary suite has a king bed with a Parachute mattress and luxurious boucle curving headboard by Sarah Sherman Samuel, nightstands with storage and bedside lamps, a sheepskin knitting armchair, a vintage sideboard, a 50” smart tv, a walk-in closet, and custom shelving with curated objects. Additionally, there is a small hallway connecting both bedrooms, from where you will find the bathroom with a tub.

The guest bedroom has an boucle queen bed with a Parachute mattress and boucle headboard, a stunning Murano glass chandelier with flower petals, a rare Danish petite king chair, a pair of Athena Calderone sculptural table lamps, cerused oak nighstands with storage, and a closet.

The powder room is petite and replete with handmade milk chocolate brown Zillage tile, a hand carved Calacatta Gold wall sink and a handmade Moroccan brass wall faucet, as well as a curvy pendant light by Lostine conjuring a foregone era.

Lastly, the galley kitchen is fully enclosed and includes panel ready appliances, as well as a stone shelf adorned with antiquities and objets. There is also an all-in-one washer dryer, hidden inside the cabinetry.

Overall, the interior design captures the splendor of Paris in the roaring 1920's updated with iconic mid-century works by Flemming Lassen, Tove Kindt-Larsen, Paavo Tynell, Maison Lunel, Rainer Daumiller, and Tony Paul. In addition, the timeless beauty of today’s American and Danish creators including Athena Calderone, Norm Architects, Sofia Tuffvason, Sarah Ellison, Sarah Sherman Samuel, and Mentze Ottenstein is featured throughout the apartment.

And, the well-edited finishes and curated goods in our apartment are sourced from female-founded businesses like Parachute, Backdrop, Ferm Living, and more.

This apartment comprises part of Susan Bliss’s home after she converted the mansion into an apartment building, which is perhaps why it has so many unique and luxurious details.

## Guest access

Throughout your stay, enjoy the tranquility and privacy of living in a former Gilded Age mansion turned 1970s boutique apartment building that houses a collection of only thirteen gracious studio to two bedroom apartments.

Additionally, enjoy the building's women-run aesthetic spa, So•Vous, available for private appointments. They specialize in luxury facials, Botox, and dermal fillers, and laser skin treatments like Morpheus8.

## Good to know

After Jeannette passed away in 1923, her daughter Susan Bliss would later donate her mother's boudoir to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, where it exhibited in the Wrightsman Collection, and her library room to Bowdoin College in Maine. After Susan passed away in 1967, the home served as the Clinical Psychologist Center for Marital and Family Therapy, the Bliss mansion was converted to rental apartments, whose former residents included actors including Candice Bergen and Al Pacino.

We'll soon be welcoming many new faces to this historical property, where the setting has been edited to celebrate both its female-spirit and cultural heritage.
