Our charming apartment is a place to relax, think, and create while staying in the heart of the West Village. Being sustainably-minded, updates to this 1890s apartment were limited to minimize our carbon footprint. The design of space captures the charm of Spain in the 1970s, mixing both tropical accents and Danish decor. Inside there is a sun-kissed palette of vibrant ochre, persimmon and terracotta against a calm backdrop including earthy linen curtains and vintage wood floors painted white. The living area includes a shimmery golden velvet sofa, handmade tiled side tables, a pair of nesting coffee tables, a natural jute carpet and a 55” TV. There we feature books from the School of Life, a global organisation helping people to lead more fulfilled lives through useful resources and tools, as well as local guides and travel books from Cereal and Kinfolk. The dinning area includes an oval table top with gold tulip base, Marcel Breuer style dinning chairs with persimmon velvet cushions and cane seat backs, and a hand assembled antique brass pendant with an LED Edison bulb — the perfect spot to pen your own poetry. The kitchen is original from the 1950s or earlier and features the bare essentials, including wood shelves, a cubpord, a stainless steel sink, as well as energy efficient appliances including an electric cooktop and oven, a microwave, and premium kitchen goods including utensils, dinning plates, cups and flatware. In addition, there is a Dyson Animal Ball Vaccum to keep the apartment tidy. Enter the petite bedroom through a charming glass door and inside you will find a queen bed with a comfy Casper mattress, a cream upholstered headboard made in Los Angeles by a women-owned company, ochre and oak wall lamps, a peace sign throw blanket, a jute pouf made ethically, and a natural jute carpet.
